Smartphone offer improves Digital inclusion for senior customers in Austria
Accessibility means a better quality of life for everyone. At Bank Austria we want to make banking transactions barrier-free for all our customers, so in 2023 we bolstered our Digital inclusion efforts with the launch of a unique new initiative to support seniors and make internet banking easier.
In partnership with emporia, the specialist mobile phone manufacturer, we offered customers a €50 discount on the emporiaSMART.5 – a device made specifically for internet banking and designed to be more accessible for seniors. More than 160 SMART.5s have already been sold using the Bank Austria discount code.
The smartphone comes with everything customers need for everyday use, including the Bank Austria MobileBanking app pre-installed.
Everyday life is becoming increasingly digital and we do not want older people to be excluded from this development. Despite rising user numbers in online banking, we know from our experience that there are also older people who have uncertainties in dealing with internet banking and smartphones. That is why we are the first and only bank in Austria to offer a mobile phone for senior citizens, which facilitates everyday life and entry into the digital world through simple operation and pre-installed apps such as our MobileBanking, thus promoting the digital inclusion of older people.”
