Raising money to support Austria’s diverse cultural scene
As part of our support for culture and the arts in the communities we operate in, each year for the past nine years we have supported, collected and raised funds for creative projects in Austria. To date, our annual reward-based crowdfunding initiative has supported Austria’s diverse cultural scene to the tune of more than €3 million.
In cooperation with wemakeit – a specialist crowdfunding platform – in 2023 nearly €325,000 was raised to support 27 Austrian art and cultural projects ranging from music, dance and festivals to design, literature and publications. Many of these projects focused on social issues, the environment and children and young people – all topics close to our hearts and aligned with our Purpose and Values.
Art and culture are at the heart of our society. That's why it is particularly important for us to support young and innovative projects. Together with 'wemakeit', we are setting an example for the diversity and creativity within Austria's cultural landscape. By providing targeted support and funding of up to €5,000 per project, we are offering cultural practitioners valuable and very practical help to complete their individual projects. This year, the dedicated budget pot was again fully utilised while the average funding target for the projects was exceeded, and every funding euro was more than tripled."
